Eye-File readers can detect some specific features of high myopia on presented images: myopic crescent or a tilted insertion of the optic disc; macular pigmentary abnormalities or macula hemorrhage that could form a hyperpigmented Fuchs spot in the macula.

Retinal vessels may seems elongated, surrounded with areas of choroidal atrophy.

Yellow subretinal streaks (laquer cracks) or peripheral retinal thinning may be observed.

Choroidal neovascularization and retinal detachment are common complication of high myopia that sometimes may be detected on the images.
